“The purpose of life is a life of purpose”- Robert Byrne, this is not just a quote but a source of inspiration, motivation and road map of my life. Born and bought up from a small town of Daltonganj in Jharkhand, I always had a keen interest in understanding the various facets of our society.

I completed my academic schooling from Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand. Jharkhand  “the rich coal capital of the country” with generally unstable governments showed me the diversity of Indian society that comprises of rich, poor, industrialist, labours, rural, urban,  religiosity, ethnicity and casteism. This diversified culture and its challenges enlightened my urge to address the views, thoughts and expectation of citizens from their country.

During my graduation days at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Journalism & Mass Communication, I did various internships with top media houses of the country to get a better understanding of the society and association of common citizen with the government and media. My keenness to explore further on how various communication networks can improve governance and connectivity to the last, I did my post-graduation in Media & Governance from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. During my post-graduation days, I started working as an independent consultant on various Academic, Government, Ministries and NGOs projects. These projects comprise of ground research, feasibility study, surveys, online and on-ground campaigns.

In the year 2016-17, I successfully got selected as a Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament, commonly known as LAMP fellowship. The fellowship was a great progression in my career as I got the opportunity to work with the Member of Parliament as a research associate for parliamentary interventions. This one-year exposure gave me a vast exposure about the functionality of the government, policy-making process of ministries and concerns, issues and resolving parameters of people.

These experiences made me realize that there is a need for a platform which can bridge the gap between citizens and government. There is a requirement of a body which can bring forward the issues and concerns of people of a constituency to their representatives. All these thoughts, views, ideas and experiences led to the foundation of “JanSoch”.
